Volume two covers the time period of Eliot's publication of The Hallow Men and his developing ideas about poetry.In 1914 he volunteered for WW1, but his enlistment was deferred for medical reasons: he went on active service in June ... the Criterion and introducing him to Bruce Richmond, editor of the TLS (for which TSE wrote some of his finest essays ).
